17-19 June 2022 - Food, wood and axes

Täljogram & Dalum in collaboration with Kalthoff Axes invites you to a culinary experience & creative woodcarving weekend in scenic Dalarna. A workshop we call Food, wood & axes = the best!

Under the guidance of the instructors Ragnar from Täljogram, Tobias from Dalum, and Julia from Kalthoff Axes, you’re in for many educational and fun woodcarving and outdoor cooking workshops.

Get to know the basics of woodcarving and a series of more specialized techniques that will enhance your skills with both the axe and a knife. Work your way from a fresh piece of birch wood to fully functional spatulas and spoons while we enjoy our company together over a Swedish kokkaffe.

Then we put the spatulas & spoons to the ultimate test by using them for cooking on the griddle. Together we cook tasty meals, learn how to prepare a controlled fire that is suitable for outdoor cooking and we will go through various techniques that will come in handy. We will also talk about great recipes for cooking outdoors. Then we feast!

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced, as you can participate on your own level. We welcome you to a weekend with prepared materials and the tools you need; fresh birch wood, axes, woodcarving knives, and griddles. And vegetarian food of course!

The place Ejheden is a beautiful eco-park deep in the wilderness, full of rough old pines. Wolf, bear and lynx roam free. There are old meadows and fields, lakes, ponds, streams and creeks. We live in cabins or in tents next to a beautiful lake.

We start on Friday, June 17th with a nice get-together from 17.00 and dinner at 19.00. The workshop program begins on Saturday, June 18th at 09.00 and ends on Sunday, June 19th at 15.00. It is also possible to come on Saturday at 09.00 when the workshop program begins. Hope to see you!

Price: 4500 SEK accommodation in a cabin or 3900 SEK in your own tent.

Cancellation 7-20 days before the workshop is refunded with 50%.
Cancellation 7 days before the workshop will not be refunded.
